This forest school program runs for over 6 weeks allowing participants to return to the same natural space week after week. This long term processes allows learners the opportunity to see how nature changes over a period of time. Learners also have time to become familiar with the space, the forest school leaders and the other learners. This builds friendship and community. As a learners confidence grows we offer more opportunities for them to push through and beyond their comfort zone. This paves the way for new experiences and learning. We use a child-led approach to facilitate our forest school programs so that what exact activities will be offered will depend on the interests shared by those taking part and their abilities.

We strive to be all inclusive. If you have any uncertainties about forest school being right or suitable for your child please contact us and we will be happy to discuss any measures we can put in place to include your child.

At Forest School we focus on,building communityandfriendships; building confidenceandresilienceandnurturing nature connection. Our Core Values are introduced: We Respect and Care for Ourselves, Each other and Nature. These underpin everything we do and are used as a tool to overcome conflict.

Tools, fire and risky play are introduced when appropriate to challenge individuals. Personal risk assessment is encouraged to make decisions regarding activities, along side certain safely rules everyone must follow. These include; stay inside the boundaries; walking around tool station; kneel when approaching the fire. Group games and sharing circles are a time for community building and having each voice heard. Nature crafts, foraging and learning interesting facts about all that is nature are all wonderful ways to connect with nature and the world around us. Self-directed playgive time for choice and self-regulation.
